Two New Layouts!

Two weeks ago, I saw my favorite singer in a show in a small venue. We were sitting in the front row, right in front of him. After the show, I got to meet him and have my picture taken with him! I've been a fan for almost 30 years, so it was very exciting!

Here's one LO about it, showing the venue (it was at the zoo!!) and how close to the little stage we were. All the papers are MME. It's based on a sketch by Stacey Lokovic at Inspired to Scrap. Here's the sketch, which I rotated to fit my pictures, and the LO.

The other LO is about my meeting him, and is based on a sketch by Cherie Averill.

Hope you had a great weekend! Mine is still not over, I'm going to see another show with my fav' singer tonight!

Happy scrapping!

Another Let's Get Sketchy Post!

Here's my last "unofficial" layout with Let's Get Sketchy! Here's the sketch.

And here's my layout. I love green... but this is REALLY green! lol! And I used my Sizzix Texture Boutique embossing machine! (I almost never use it... {blush}) The page is about the Cape Henry lighthouses near Virginia Beach. The one on the right was built in 1792 and is the oldest one in the States. We climbed up it, and could have a view of the "new" lighthouse (the black and white one) which was built in 1881.

Hope you go check the DT reveal here and join in with your own creation. You could win a prize!

Happy scrapping!

2nd Guest Designer Page with Sketch~N~Scrap!

Hi there! Just a quick note today to share my second layout I did for Sketch~N~Scrap this month. This is the fun sketch we had to work with.

This time, I actually used just one photo on the page (I usually try to add a few pics to single-picture sketches!). It's Biltmore, in North Carolina, the biggest private residence in the US. For the banner, I used my circle punch to cut off the ends and shape them. The colors are very subdued, but I wanted to keep the focus on the picture.

Go check out what the DT did with the sketch on the blog. Hope you join in and play along too!

Another LO from Let's Get Sketchy!

Hi there!

Although my DT term with Let's Get Sketchy is up, I had a "head's up" on the September sketches! So today I'm sharing the layout I made with this sketch. It's a beautiful sketch with lots of circles, but of course, you can substitute whatever you want instead.

I changed the photo orientation and size. (And just as I'm writing this, I realize I forgot to glue one of the strips of paper I had cut, a pink one... No wonder the page seemed like it was missing something! lol!) It's a layout about a "poney cruise" that we took to Assateague Island in Virginia. The island is famous for its wild poneys! I dug into my "vintage" Basic Grey and used the "Infuse" collection.

You should check out the beautiful layouts of the DT on the blog here, they're sure to inspire you!

Have a scrappy week!

My Featured Layouts!

Recently, I've had two layouts featured on two blogs. The first one is my "Escape" layout which was featured on Scrapbooking from the Inside Out. Then my "Tea at Biltmore" page was picked in the top 5 over at C'est Magnifique Kits for their August sketch challenge. What a surprise!

Now that I'm back to work at school, I have less time to scrap, but I still have one layout to share with you today. It's called "Dreaming of Antarctica" and was done for one of the "escape" challenges at Scrapbooking from the Inside Out. It's based on this fabulous sketch by Julie Bonner, for Noel Mignon.

I used some very old paper on this one! The chipboard snowflakes were painted white. I then put a coat of Diamond Glaze and sprinkled some Diamond Dust on top for a glittery effect.

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy scrapping!
