Time...

I haven't had time this weekend to scrap much other than my very first assignment for Sassy Lil' Sketches! It took me forever to get it done... I was struggling over little details... I think I was (am!) nervous about my first ever reveal! Especially since I made a LO with colors that I usually don't use very often... So don't forget to head on over next week (February 7th) for Sassy Lil' Sketches' first reveal! They also posted two sketches until the "official" sketch is posted next week. So if you feel creative, go check it out!

And come back here next week for my reveal! :)

Meet My Kitties!

Okay, so I have no new LOs to share yet, but I found this cute little application at www.smilebox.com where you can make digital slideshows, albums or ecards by simply dragging in your photos into ready-made templates. My kind of digi "scrapping", as I'm totally not technologically inclined! lol!

So click on this slideshow if you want to meet my cats, past and present! They're purrty!! (I know, that was an easy pun! ;)

Lil' News That's Big News For Me!

I'm a Sassy! :) I was chosen to be part of the DT at the new sketch blog by Katie and Cherie Sassy Lil' Sketches. I'm very excited about it! I love sketches, and the ones we've had to work with so far have been great, so I'm sure it will be a very inspiring place to be!! I'll be part of the team that reveals their LOs on the 7th of every month. There will be a new sketch every week (one of them a card sketch). So be sure to check in every week for some fantastic sketches and reveals!

Here are the two LOs I submitted based on Cherie Averill's sketches.

This one is the colorful little town of Portree on the Isle of Skye, in Scotland. They have such a pretty little harbour! We ate some good fish & chips there!

This is a LO of Conwy Castle in northern Wales, one of the fortified castles built by King Edward I in the 13th century. Edward sure knew how to build them! (I got to play with my newest toy for this LO! I used my new Sizzix Texture Boutique to emboss my stamped letters for my title. I'm definitely going to enjoy my new acquisition!)

So stay tuned for more sassy sketches and LOs to be posted here regularly!

Just a few pics...

As I don't have many new pages to show off yet in 2010, I thought I would share a few of my favorites of 2009. Photos from a new trip are always good to get my inspiration going! So here are a few LOs from our last trip to the UK (we visited England, Wales and Scotland).

These two are beautiful sunsets on the Isle of Skye, in Scotland. True "Wild Beauty". I loved that place. It reminded me of the wildness of Alaska!
(Based on a sketch by "Lady Grace".)

(Based on a sketch by Karan Gerber.)

I couldn't go to England and not experience their national drink, TEA, complete with scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream! That was fun!
(Based on a sketch by Melanie Blackburn at Love Is In The Details )

A beautiful garden we visited in Wales...
(Based on a sketch by Nicole Nowosad at The Paper Passion )

And finally, my favorite animal seen on our trip, Highland Cows! They were just soooo cute with their long hair and big horns!
(Based on a sketch by Michelle Engel.)

I guess that's it for now! I'm going to try to get some scrapping done tonight! Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Yes, I know, I like sketches a lot! ;)

Old Cats, New Toys...

Okay, so I spent a chunk of my Saturday running to the vet because my 17 year old cat wasn't feeling well. He started being sick at the beginning of the week, had gotten better, but was looking bad again yesterday. So off we went this morning. He has chronic renal failure, so I'm always imagining that his kidneys are finally giving out. Good news: turns out he's maintaining his kidney function, his weight is stable and he's not anemic. Bad news: it looks like his liver is acting up again (he was really sick with that last spring). He seems to be doing a bit better tonight, so hopefully the new meds will help... Here's Chipper, my plastic-eater, belly-rub-lover of a cat!

On a happier note, I started playing with my new toy today, my new Sizzix Texture Boutique! I think I'm in love! ;) I had thought about getting a Big Shot or Cuttlebug for embossing, but I couldn't justify the expense since I already have a CraftRobo that I barely use... (I keep telling myself that I'll jump in and start figuring out how it really works, but it hasn't happened quite yet!) So when I saw this new little embossing machine, I thought it was perfect for what I needed, and not too expensive! I can see embossing in my future LOs! :)

Well, I guess that's it for now. I'm off to play some more with my new toy! :)

Everybody does it...

Well, it seems everybody has a scrap blog these days, so here I am, jumping on the bandwagon! It seems lately I've been buying scrappy stuff more than I've been creating it! Maybe this blog will keep me motivated...

I love to travel and I have no kids, so I mostly scrap my trips. I'm an official cat lady, so I have a few cat layouts sprinkled through there, as well as a few LOs of my family and myself.

Here's one of my layouts, one of my last ones of 2009. It's about my cat Chipper, who turned 17 on December 27th! He's my baby, and has followed me from Alaska, Newfoundland, the Yukon, back to Alaska and now Quebec. It's a LO done for a challenge for Mission Create) and based on a sketch from Inspired Blueprints )

And here's a LO I did from our trip to the UK this past summer. We visited a beautiful lavender farm! This was based on a sketch by Hélène, which can be found here: scrapbooktavie.com/sketch_helene.php .

OK, that's it for my first post! gotta go back to cleaning the scrap room! see ya later!
