Challenge #26 at Let's Get Sketchy!

Today is my last reveal with Let's Get Sketchy! Six months sure went by fast! Here's the pretty sketch we had to work with.

I made a layout about life in Trinidad, from our trip to Cuba in the winter of 2011. I used a bunch of papers from Basic Grey's Nook & Pantry collection. I love the soft colors. I also stitched around the pieces of papers.

Go check out the rest of the team's work here. You have until next Sunday to link up your creation for a chance to win our monthly prize!

Happy scrapping!

Escape!

That's the theme at Scrapbooking from the Inside Out for August. The first challenge this month was to scrap about how we sometimes wish we could disappear somewhere and just escape from it all!

The title of my layout means "Escape". The picture is from the incredible beach of Cayo Ensenachos in Cuba, where we went in 2011. I wouldn't mind escaping there a few more times! lol! The picture flips open to reveal some journaling. I kept embellishments to a minimum. My layout is based on a sketch from Let's Capture These Sketches.

Hope you can "escape" and join in the fun at Scrapbooking from the Inside Out!

C'est Magnifique Sketch!

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a page I did with the August sketch at C'est Magnifique Kits. Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it. I rotated the sketch to fit my landscape pictures. It's us having afternoon tea at Biltmore Inn, in North Carolina. I always get a kick out of having tea!

That's it for today! Hope you have a scrappy day!

Sketch~N~Scrap Guest DT Call!

Sketch~N~Scrap is having a guest DT call for September! All you need to do is complete a layout based on this sketch by August 20th.

I loved the multi-pic sketch with all those squares! This page is about Amish country, in Pennsylvania, which we visited this summer. I used the old Basic Grey collection "Urban Couture". For the squares of pattern paper, I actually cut out the examples from the "cover page" of the collection pack! Great way to get the same patterns but in a very small size!

I also did a layout of sketch 14 from Sketch~N~Scrap, one of my rare single photo pages! This is a picture of my brother and my niece. Don't they make a nice "couple"? I used an even older collection of Basic Grey for this one, Skate Shoppe!

Hope you have time to join in and play along with Sketch~N~Scrap and their cool sketches!

Challenge #68 at Scrap Your Crap: Brads/Eyelets

You know you have them in your stash! Tons of brads and a healthy dose of eyelets too. This month's challenge at Scrap Your Crap is to dig them out and use them! You can use brads only, eyelets only or a combination of the two. Try to make a dent in your stash!

Here's my layout. I used up 45 eyelets! Woohoo!! The page is about the "Wet Jet" tour we took in Niagara Falls back in 2008.  It was lots of fun, and definitely wet!! You can see that where we were sitting was completely submerged in water!

My layout is based on sketch #4 by Susan Stringfellow at Sketch Savvy.

Go to the blog to see the other creations by the DT. Why don't you join us too!

Happy scrapping!

Challenge #24 at Let's Get Sketchy!

We're already in the 6th month at Let's Get Sketchy and into my last month as DT over there! Here's this week's sketch. It's full of layers, and it's multi-pic... I love that!

Here's my take on it. It's about the Christmas markets in Dresden, Germany, that we visited last December. It was wonderful! An item off my bucket list, actually! I used the Basic Grey collection "Nordic Holiday", which has lots of fun Chrismassy papers.

Go check out the beautiful creations by the rest of the DT here, and be inspired to create your own for your chance to win our monthly prize!

Happy scrapping!

Found a new challenge blog!

A couple of days ago, I found a new challenge blog and fell in love with their sketches! It's called iclassygirl. Lots of multi-pic sketches, which I love! Here's one of them, along with my take on it.

These are the gardens of Biltmore (in North Carolina), the largest private home in the US, which we just visited during our vacation. It was crazy big!! For this layout, I used Crate Paper's Pretty Party collection. For the dark green paper, I traced the packaging of an old Prima felt "De-Vine" which had a pretty shape!

That's it for now. I'll be back Monday with the newest reveal at Let's Get Sketchy!

Hope you're having a creative weekend!

Back from Vacation with Two New Layouts!

Hi there!

I've been on vacation for the past two weeks, so that's meant no scrapping for me! I dove back in my scraproom with these two layouts about Point Ellice House, a beautiful victorian home in Victoria, BC. The first page is based on sketch #69 at Sketchabilities. I used the Curio collection from Basic Grey.

The second page is based on the August sketch at The ScrapRoom Blog

Just a couple of weeks before school starts... Hope to get to scrap some more before work starts up again!

Happy scrapping!
