Hi there! Here's another layout that I completed at my weekend crop a few weeks ago. It's from our trip to Virginia and North Carolina in 2012. We visited Biltmore, the largest private "house" in the US, built by the Vanderbilts. Mike, who loves to put his own spin on words, called it "Build More" because of its size, hence the title of my layout! The page is based on a sketch from the crop. I always love a good grid design!
I've got two unfinished layouts currently waiting for me, but I need to make some space and put some order in my scrap room so I can be creative!
Have a scrappy week!

Hello! Here's another page I made at my weekend crop. It's about Luray Caverns, which were the first caverns we visited when we went to Virginia and North Carolina in 2012. It was truly impressive!! You can't imagine how vast they are and how beautiful!
I used the old collection "Ambrosia" by Basic Grey. The colors were just perfect. And how about that drippy Martha Stewart punch to mimic stalactites? I thought that was pretty cool!
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your scrappy time!

Hi there! Here's another layout I did during my weekend crop. This one's about my favorite Disney character, Donald Duck. I like him because he's not as perfect as Mickey! ;-)
It's based on this sketch by Becky Fleck at Pagemaps.
The title means "Hurray for the Duck!" and is meant as a companion page to one I did a while ago. I used another old Basic Grey collection, "Oh Baby Boy!".
That's all I have for now! Have a scrappy week!

Hi! Here's a layout I did about the magical fireworks at Disney World! We were there for New Year's Eve in 2012. They really go all out!! Talk about magical! I used the April sketch from Anna's Craft Cupboard which took me out of my comfort zone a little bit!
I used a sunburst stencil by Heidi Swapp and misted my dark background with different shimmery mists. The picture didn't turn out very well though. I used Inka Gold to distress the black plastic letters by Tim Holtz for the word "night". I love that cute little Mickey and Minnie sticker! It's hard to tell, but they're surrounded by their own little fireworks.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi! Here's a layout I made during my scrappy weekend getaway last week! It's another kitty layout... can't go wrong with those! ;-) It's based on this sketch from "Cap de scrapper ça", a French challenge blog.
I used embossed Core'dinations cardstock which I sanded as the background and some scraps from Basic Grey's "Sweet Threads". I used a fabric polaroid frame from Crate Paper, Blue Fern Studios chipboard, a Studio Calico cat wood veneer and a few other embellies.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Easter weekend! Hope you find some time to scrap!

Yes, they do! Well, in my life anyway! I love my kitties and I love being surrounded by them. Even corrections and working on report cards (which is what I was doing in the pictures) are smoother when you have a cat or two helping out! ;) (Notice the 2nd kitty lying down behind me on the chair...)
The layout is based on this sketch from Simple Scrapbooks.
I'm back from my weekend crop and had a blast! We were hard-core croppers and enjoyed every minute of it. It will take me the week to make up for lost sleep but it was worth it! Had so much fun with my two scrappy friends too! I'm a slow scrapper but I did manage to get 6 1/2 pages done, which is pretty good for me! I haven't finished unpacking and I haven't taken pictures of all my layouts yet but I will share when I can. Thanks for taking a peek at my work!
Have a great week!

Sorry it's been so quiet around here... I haven't been scrapping lately... I've been feeling under a gloomy cloud. So I scrapped about it! It felt good to clear up a spot on my messy scrap desk and get busy again!
I used this sketch from the April sketch challenge at Scrapbook Plus Des Laurentides. I'm going to their weekend crop next week, so I'm hoping that will get me back into a scrappy mood!
This is the layout I made. The picture is a stock photo from the internet. I used some old 7 Gypsies paper for the background to which I added some stenciling (Prima crackle stencil by Finnabair) with ink and paint-colored modeling paste. Other papers are old scraps from Karent Foster, Cosmo Cricket, Daisy D's... I used stamps from We R Memory Keepers(Sew Stamper around the page), Stampers Anonymous - Claudine Hellmuth (the raindrops, foam + acrylic), Unity (the girl), Imaginisce (the cloud, stamped on cork), Sandy Lion (the tab and the word strip at the bottom) and Technique Tuesday (the arrow at the bottom). Felt good to scrap again!
I should have a few layouts to share after my scrappy weekend! The crop theme is "The Rio de Janeiro Carnival"... intriguing! Stay tuned!

Hello! Hop on over to Simple Sketches to see the new reveal! This week's sketch features four square photos. Here it is!
I followed the sketch pretty closely for my layout (which exposes my not-so-secret addiction to Diet Pepsi! ;)
I used Pepsi colors of course! The background and heart papers are from Crate Paper. Most of everything else is very old stash! From the Fancy Pants felt to the puffy and flocked alpha stickers from Making Memories and DoodleBug! Oh, and old My Mind's Eye paper too!
Go check out the rest of the team's creations and link up your page too, right here!

Hi there!
I made a layout about our visit to Flora Holland last summer, the biggest auction seller of flowers in the world. It's a huge place... an area equivalent to 400 soccer fields! They sell over 20,000 varieties of flowers and plants, and sell 12.5 billion of them every year! We visited while they were auctioning off flowers and preparing them to ship everywhere... it was very cool to see! (not the most scenic pictures though! ;) The title means: Flowers in Transit by the Milions!
Go check out the rest of the DT reveal for sketch #22 here! I hope you'll join us and try this sketch out!
Have a scrappy week!

Hello!
Sketch #20 is up at Simple Sketches today! It's a 3-photo sketch featuring square photos.
I used three photos but changed their format. I also changed up the paper layering a bit. I went for some Basic Grey again, this time using the "Curio" collection for a vintage look. I added some pleated ribbon and lace, metal embellies colored with alcohol inks, a vintage-looking button from Making Memories, flowers and a beaded pin (actually a cocktail pin from the dollar store!).
These are photos of my dad and his brother, along with four cousins. The original photo was taken in 1940 (my dad was two years old; the one at the right on the picture). They recreated it in 1976, then again in 2013, at a family reunion celebrating the year when three of them turned 75. There were a lot of laughs while we directed this "recreation"!
Go check out what the other DT members did for sketch #20 here and link up your layout if you want to give the sketch a try! We'd love to see your take on it!
Happy scrapping!
